I am an avid gardener and spend the summer planting, watering and weeding. One summer day my best friend was pressing me to finish the bear I was making for her and lamented that she would have better luck if it would only start snowing. I laughed, my friend got her bear and Snowy Day Bears was born.

Back again
It doesn't seem like a month has passed since I last posted but it has. I have been busy with so many things. I decided to redecorate my bedroom. This is a project that consumed a big chunk of time. The room was wall papered when I bought the house several years ago and dreading the task I have let it be. Well, I have added a few new curse words to my vocabulary but after several weeks the paper is gone. I finally had to buy a wall paper steamer. That by no means made the job easy but it did make it possible. Later my husband told me that when I stripped off a large piece and tossed it behind me it struck him in the head and being covered with glue it stuck there. He peeled it off and decided not to mention it at that time based on my mood. He did step into the room briefly to help me and was prone to cursing and throwing paper strips as well. He peeled off a large piece and threw it into the fan and then other large piece which attached itself to my foot. Large pieces were good no matter where they landed.
The painting went well until my cat, Lily decided to help. She dragged her fluffy tail through the paint. I had no paint on me until that point. I jumped up and grabbed her to prevent a large wet paint brush from running through my house. She wouldn't let me wipe it off so I feed her hoping that she would stay in one place until it dried.
There are more stories like wrong pieces of furniture being delivered, sleeping on the floor for two weeks and decorative rods not being long enough but all is well that ends well.
The room is done! The walls are painted a color called Sea Salt - a light blue/gray , the new furniture has been delivered, the new curtains are up and the new carpet went in yesterday. I would post a picture but I am too tired to get out the camera.

Lazy Summer Weekend
This was a beautiful summer weekend . The weather was perfect and life slowed down so I could savor every bit of it. I had a chance to dye some mohair and start a new bear and work in my garden for a while on Saturday. Saturday night my husband and I met a couple of dear friends for dinner. We had dinner at Smuggler's Notch Inn. It is busy during ski season but slows down this time of year. We had a leisurely meal outside and talked for hours.
Sunday was a lazy day. I spent some time in the garden and then my husband and I decided to get in the car and travel through the country side and see what the day would bring. We stopped at a flea market. It is amazing what you can find at one of these. I bought some vintage Jeff Gordon collectibles. (I'm a big NASCAR fan and Jeff is my favorite)
I finally got to snap a picture of the rabbit that lives in my backyard. Here is his picture along with some pictures of my flowers that I took when I went outside to water tonight.

Visitors to my Garden
I have been suffering from allergies for the past week and just dragging myself through the day. I am feeling better now and trying to catch up with everything I have been neglecting. The little chap in the picture decided to keep me company while I worked in my garden. He really is this strange green color. A little chipmunk lives in my shed and spent the afternoon zipping in and out of the shed and around the garden. I pretended that I didn't notice him so he thought he was invisible and very clever.
It is very common for people walking down the street to stop and visit with me while I work in the garden in the front of my home. Last evening a lady with a little girl stopped to tell me how pretty my flowers are especially the bellflowers. I asked her if she would like a clump since I needed to divide them away. She eagerly said yes. When I went to the shed to get a shove the little girl followed me and when she saw my backyard garden rushed in. She was fascinated with the pond and screamed excitedly when she saw the "baby frog". She was as delighted as I was to see him. She also noticed the chipmunk and because he didn't feel quite as invisible any more he went into hiding. Before they left I cut a rose and gave it to the little girl. She was so pleased and said she was going to give it to her mother. At that point the lady told me that the little girl's grandfather has just passed away so she was in town with her mother for the funeral. Her mother was very sad and that is why it was so special to her to be able to give her mom something beautiful.
My garden seems so much more beautiful when I can share it with someone.

Images from my Garden
It finally stopped raining. The ark has been built for sometime now and I was in the process of gathering the animals two by two when the sun finally came out. So many people in Vt have suffered damage and lost due to the relentless wind and rain. Barre is covered with mud, roads are washed out all over the state, basements are full of water and lake front properties are still flooded. I am lucky and was only inconvenienced by the constant rains. I have spent the weekend in my flower gardens and would like to share some images with you.

Pink Ballerina
Pink Ballerina is a special request bear. It was designed for a beautiful little girl that loves pink and ballet. It was a bit of a challenge to make a child safe bear especially the safety eyes but the little girl was very happy with the results.
My Velcro kitty, Lily was more then glad to help with the tutu so that took twice as long as it should have.

Spring
Teddy Bears, Spring Flowers and Pussy Cats are some of my favorite things. You'll see by profile photo that I have a constant companion and helper. Lily is my Velcro kitty and helps me with all my projects whether I need it or not.
It is always so exciting to see the bright colors of the spring flowers after a long persistent winter. I am busy planting and getting my flower gardens ready for the season. Whenever the constant rain permits that is. I have 6 flats of annuals ready to line the walk way as soon as it stops raining.
